Route Scout - GPS Topo Mapper is hereinafter referred to as RS. Hikearizona.com provides RS and is hereinafter referred to as HAZ. The Route Scout user is hereinafter referred to as you and your.

RS has no ads and no analytics. Good luck finding that anywhere else on planet earth.

RS collects location data to record your hike even when the app is closed or not in use.

In order to continuously record with the screen off or while using any other app, you must grant permission.

ACTIVITY

• Recorded activity, "begin activity" until you press "finish", is saved on your device as a gps file in "Files".
• A gps "File" on RS is a collection of your location, elevation and time per second at most.
• "Files" are accessed via the "Files" button on the home screen of RS.
• Your recorded "Files" do not externally share or save unless initiated by you. RS has no option to auto share or auto save. You may delete files on your device. When you record or import over the max allowed files, the oldest file auto deletes on your device and is lost forever. As of January 2021, the max number of files allowed is 50.
• Recorded "Files" you "Save/Share" are publicly available on HAZ as a triplog with other optional details you provide. The triplog is linked to your account on HAZ. Within the process you have the option to hide the route and/or the triplog from public viewing. Triplogs may be edited or deleted for up to 48 hours on HAZ. Triplogs are a contribution to HAZ. HAZ provides water reports to HAZ members and/or the public.

DEBUG

• Debug initiated by you sends RS activity for the past 24 hours to HAZ. In addition to time and location data, debug contains details of the make, model and sensors in the device from which you initiate debug. Debug data is never shared and deleted after six months. Debug data is used to correct, understand and fix issues you report in debug.

IMPORT > NEARBY

• Your location is used to determine nearby routes when you tap this function.
• Your location is not shared or stored when you use this function.

PREVIEW, REVIEW & DRIVE TO ROUTE

• Your location is used while using these functions so you may compare your current location to the route.
• Your location is not shared or stored when you use these functions.

REGISTRATION

• optional though HAZ
• requires a username, a valid e-mail address and a password
• stored in a private database on HAZ
• your e-mail address and password are never shared nor sold

WATER REPORTS

• Water reports you create on RS are auto shared on HAZ.
• The report, date of the report and the registered member that entered the report are published to the public on HAZ.
• Water reports are location specific. Date and time are stored. Your exact location nor exact time are shared on HAZ. The public will know you were at the water source on the date of the report. Water reports may be edited or deleted for up to 48 hours on HAZ. Water reports are a contribution to HAZ. HAZ provides water reports to HAZ members and/or the public.

You use RS at your own risk. RS complies with industry standards to protect Personal Data both online and offline from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. However, no Internet or email transmission is ever fully secure. You should take special care in deciding what information you send to us via RS or email. Please keep this in mind when disclosing any Personal Data to HAZ via the Internet. RS and HAZ are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on RS or HAZ. All data transfers are HTTPS, the communication protocol is encrypted using Transport Layer Security.

RS is designed and intended for use by hikers, 18 years and older.
